LONDON, Ont. | The case of a local doctor who was allegedly “rude” to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario while he was facing a competency investigation will go before a disciplinary hearing this month.
Dr. Wagdy Abdalla Botros, who also works at a sleep clinic in nearby Mississauga, was facing an allegation he was incompetent in the care of 35 patients, from 2007 to 2010.

While under investigation, the CPSO alleges that Dr. Botros “engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional conduct” when he didn’t comply with an order from the college to complete a remediation program.

It is further alleged that Dr. Botros engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional conduct when he failed to co-operate with the college investigation into his care and treatment of patients, including by being rude or unprofessional in his dealings with college investigators,” states the CPSO on their website.

His next hearing date is on Jan. 20.

Dr. Botros graduated from Egypt’s Ain Shams University in 1975 and has practised in Canada since 1990, according to the CPSO.

Poor investigators   –   bless their simple little hearts  –   were offended  when “allegedly”   Dr. Botros  was “rude and unprofessional” in his dealings with them, refusing to be obsequious or to be intimidated”. Investigators hightailed it to “Capo” Gerace, whining they did not get the respect they felt they deserved. Being made to feel important means everything to them. It’s all they have! On their own, without backing of the College, they are easy-to-replace, forgettable nobodies.

A man like Dr. Botros, educated and from an aristocratic family –  used to dealing with a household full of servants in Egypt  –  simply does not defer to people not his equal. However, refusing to grovel or be intimidated by servants is clearly not the same as being  “rude and unprofessional”.

CPSO definition of  “rude and unprofessional”   =    Anyone who doesn’t kowtow and refuses to be intimidated by CPSO employees, in this case: far from brilliant CPSO investigators (“social workers”).
